ZEBRA GX430T DRIVER DRIVER
USB and Ethernet are only ports trough which data is beeing transmited - to your application and driver it does not matter what path you choose. Will I 'lose' any functionality when I do this? You suggest that I use a generic print driver and I've seen others suggest this too. But when I go to print management, I don't get any option to add a printer (see attachment). Your suggestion is to add a second printer manually through print management. I can try your solution out on my work computer, which is not the computer we need to print on - so I can use it as a test computer.ġ. My intention is to set it up via network but have the USB option there as a backup in case of issues, hence the desire for two drivers. Spiceworks seems to have some similar answers to other similar responses where they advise against using a printer through both USB and network. If you can then proceed to add this printer to MS Windows.

When the printer comes back up, see if you can connect to the newly assigned IP address of the printer. Save the settings, wait 10 seconds and then reboot the printer.Ĩ. You may have to rekey the subnet mask and gateway address collected in step 5.ħ.

Change the printer's IP address mode to manual and key in the selected IP address from step 3. The keys will be IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address.Ħ. Note the current values of the IP address section. Now that you know the new IP address and the current IP address of the printer, using a web browser connect to the printer's web interface by keying in its IP address on the address line of your browser.ĥ. 6 making the proposed IP address of the printer 192.168.1.6, your IP base address may be different so I'm only giving you an example.Ĥ. 50, so for this example I would place the printer outside that range, like. Typically its like 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.50 (the numbers don't matter, what you want is the range because you want to place your static assigned systems OUTSIDE of the dhcp range to avoid an IP address conflict. Also in the dhcp server section on your soho router, there will be a dhcp range. If there isn't a clue then look on the printer for its mac address, its mac address WILL be listed in the dhcp server leases section.ģ. I would expect it to say Zebra something or the model number. Look through the list of connected devices to see if you can identify the printer in the connected computers. On that page there will be a listing of dhcp leases. Log into your soho router and navigate to the dhcp server page. We have to go this route because that specific printer doesn't have an on board management interface.Ģ. It will pick up an IP address via dhcp because that is the default. Plug that printer into the network cable and power it on. Its not a requirement, but a recommendation based on years of experience in that devices that provide a service (like printing) should have a static IP address. My recommendation would be to give that printer a static IP address. OK now that I know you have a SOHO setup lets go this way (I'm aware of the discussion with bucko) I can enter the ip address (when I get that) and go through the process when I'm in the shop. So how do I set this up?Īnybody done this and worked it out? Thanks yet there is no option that relates to ethernet. But when I do this it opens the wizard, and requires a port option, including COMx, FILE, LPTx, PORTPROMPT, SHRFAX, USB001 and some application-based ones (foxit reader, microsoft, etc).

It makes more sense to me to install a second print driver, for ethernet, keeping my existing USB one. Nothing happens - it's as if it did nothing. Then I select 'Printer' (to send these to the printer), then Finish. The obvious option for this is 'wired' (out of wired, wireless and bluetooth) and then I've selected DHCP and then I get the final stream page, which shows me a list of settings that will be sent to the printer or saved to a file. The only instructions I can find online seem to suggest that you do this by configuring printer connectivity on the existing printer driver.
